'08 Toyota Highlander

Available as a more powerful and roomier model than its predecessors, 2008 Toyota Highlander is surely a good buy if you are looking for a family size SUV. It is available in five trims: base model, Sport, Limited, Hybrid and Hybrid Limited.

The 2008 Toyota Highlander offers 3.5 liter V6 as a standard engine with 270 hp. It has more hip-room in the front and rear seats. The third row is foldable to floor flat level and the cargo space has increased to 95.4 cubic feet from 81.6. It also has an option of power lift gate.

The base model offers a privacy glass, tilt and telescoping steering wheel and alloy wheels of 17 inches. The Sport model has better suspension tuning and has 19 inch alloy wheels. Ideally, it requires 87 octane fuel and five-speed automatic transmission is a standard. There are airbags for all the three rows as side curtains and one for driver’s knee.

'06 Toyota Highlander

The Japanese car giant, Toyota, has come up with something new this time. The 2006 Toyota Highlander is now available in a gas electric hybrid model. While it's typically a five seater, it can be extended to accommodate up to seven passengers. The third row is foldable in the new Highlander, thus creates a cargo space of 80 cubic feet.

The 2006 Toyota Highlander is a mid-size SUV based on car model. It is available in 4-cyl and V6 engine, with four wheel drive or front wheel drive. Hybrid model combines a 3.3 liter V6 engine with an electric motor in case of front wheel drive or two motors for an all-wheel drive.

The hybrid model uses continuous variable transmission. A five speed transmission is available with the V6 engine. It is available in base and limited trims. It has rear privacy glass, remote keyless entry, heated mirrors and tilt-sunroof option. It also has electronic brake force distribution and works on ABS.

'05 Toyota Highlander

The ravishing 2005 Toyota Highlander offers optional front wheel or four wheel drive. It has a V6 engine which is also available with four cylinder engines.

The 2005 Highlander base model comes with a 2.4 lit 4-cyl engine. It also offers a 3.3 liter V6 230 hp engine which makes highway driving even smoother. The V6 comes with a five-speed automatic, whereas, the 4-cyl has a four-speed transmission.

It has standard full length curtain style airbags and side impact airbags. Compared to other SUVs, it has a lower floor to get in and off the vehicle.

In the 2005 Toyota Highlander, the third row folds into floor level and the second row can also be folded, clearing a space of around 80 cubic feet for cargo. Options available in the Highlander are tilt and slide glass sunroof, roof rack, fog lights, 17 inch alloy wheels. It has six CD changer and the rear seats have wireless headphones.
